SMITH, LURLINE BYRD, died August 30, 2007 peacefully and comfortably while talking with her daughter-in-law, Linda, after a four year battle with multiple myeloma. Lurline was born April 10, 1932 to John Russell Smith M.D. and Lurline Byrd Smith at St. Paul’s Hospital in Dallas Texas, as was her mother before her. Lurline served as State President of CAR (Children of the American Revolution) 1947-48. She graduated with honors from Austin High School in 1948, and with honors from the University of Texas. Lurline belonged to Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at UT and married Donald A. Smith in 1953. She was actively involved in both the Friends of the Library and the Heritage Association of Frisco. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Donald Alfred Smith M.D. and their son Kenneth Blake Smith. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Linda Smith and their children, her grandchildren, Melanie Smith and Russell Smith, and Conrad and Beverly Bavousett her brother-in-law and sister, and many much loved cousins.
